Over the past three years, Bravura Namibia has played a central role in conceptualising, structuring, and implementing one of Namibia’s most significant private conservation initiatives through the establishment of a dedicated conservation fund seeded by Elephants, Rhinos & People (ERP). This work culminated in the launch of the Gondwana ERP Canyon Park Rhino Sanctuary, a landmark public-private conservation venture developed in partnership with Gondwana Collection Namibia and supported by Namibia’s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.

Situated on approximately 140,000 hectares of historic black rhino rangeland adjacent to the Fish River Canyon, the sanctuary is restoring a species that had disappeared entirely from the region. Bravura designed and facilitated the innovative structure that brought together conservation expertise, tourism capabilities, government participation, and ESG-focused capital into a sustainable long-term model. To date, eight critically endangered black rhinos have been successfully reintroduced into the sanctuary, with a further 10–20 animals anticipated over the next three to five years. This represents a meaningful contribution to the preservation of one of the world’s most endangered large mammal populations.

Beyond its ecological significance, the project exemplifies Bravura’s ability to structure innovative ventures that deliver both commercial and societal value. More importantly, it has established a proven blueprint for future ESG and conservation infrastructure projects, demonstrating how conservation, tourism, ESG capital, and private enterprise can be brought together through thoughtful structuring to create measurable, lasting impact well beyond the original transaction.
